In April 2012, HNMS was designated by the Minister of Infrastructure, Transportation and Networks as the exclusive Provider for Meteorological Services to International Aviation for the entire Hellenic F.I.R. under the framework of the Single European Sky Legislation.
In May 2013 HNMS was recertified by HANSA (Hellenic Air Navigation Supervisory Authority) for the provision of Meteorological Services to International Aviation for the entire Hellenic F.I.R. according to Commission Implementing Regulation (CIR) 1035/2011 on Common and Specific Requirements of the European Parliament valid until May 2017.
In April 2016, Hellenic National Meteorological Service (HNMS) renewed its Certification as per EN ISO 9001: 2008 for the Quality Management System (QMS) which applies for the provision of meteorological support to aviation. This certification, valid until April 2016, was conducted in accordance with DQS HELLAS auditing and certification procedures and is subject to regular surveillance audits.
