In October the mean values of temperature varied higher than normals everywhere. However the main characteristic was the long lasting intense rainfalls which recorded over northern parts of Crete and caused ruinous floods. Particularly in Met. Station of Iraklion the monthly height of precipitation (304mm) forms a new record for the long period of 111 years.
